The Maysville Panther Band and Choir students participated in the OMEA district 9 Solo and Ensemble contest Saturday at Meadowbrook high school. The choir had 9 students participate in solos and received 3 “I” superior ratings and 4 “II” excellent ratings. The band students had 34 students participate in 27 events. Of the students participating in solos there were 11 “I” superior ratings and. 9 “II” excellent ratings. The groups participating in ensembles there were 2 “ I” superior ratings and 1 “II” excellent rating. Congratulations students! Maysville Panther Swimming The Panthers competed in the meet Friday at Ohio University, where the Men's Team finished 2nd overall, and the Women's Team finished 3rd. Top 10 individual finishes included: Alissa Jinkens finished 6th in the Women's 50-Yard Freestyle & 6th in the Women's 100-Yard Freestyle. Brooklyn Ponish finished 3rd in the Women's 200-Yard Freestyle & 7th in the Women's 100-Yard Freestyle. Tillman Hawk finished 1st in the Men's 200-Yard Freestyle & 1st in the Men's 500-Yard Freestyle. Elijah Mayle finished 2nd in the Men's 200-Yard Freestyle & 4th in the Men's 100-Yard Breaststroke. Bailey Paskell finished 4th in the Women's 200-Yard Freestyle & 8th in the Women's 100-Yard Freestyle. Owen Rusnak finished 2nd in the Men's 50-Yard Freestyle & 2nd in the Men's 500-Yard Freestyle. Claire Heiney set a personal record in the Women's 50-Yard Freestyle. The Panthers swim next on Wednesday at the MVL Championships in Coshocton.

Maysville Elementary STEAM Four third grade classes met with Mrs. McHugh and Mrs. Hill today in the STEAM Lab to test the tensile strength of several materials. They used what they learned about the strength of a spider web to make predictions and then test their theories. Can you believe that spider silk can stretch to 2.5 times its length when tested?

The Maysville Panther Swim Team finished 5th overall at the Muskingum County Meet Wednesday. The Women's Relay Team of Alissa Jinkens, Brooklyn Ponish, Bailey Paskell, and Claire Heiney finished 4th in the 200 Medley Relay. Top 10 finishes included: Alissa Jinkens finished 3rd in the Women's 100-Yard Backstroke and 5th in the Women's 200-Yard Freestyle. Brooklyn Ponish finished 6th in the Women's 200-Yard Freestyle.
