Maysville Local Schools

Maysville 2nd graders had a blast investigating the force of push and pull and discovering how simple machines help us do work. They put their learning into action by building their own catapults and launching candy pumpkins!🎃

Then came the big question: Could we catapult candy corn even farther using the same amount of force? Students tested their ideas, made observations, and had lots of fun experimenting.

🎃🍬 Maysville Elementary is getting ready for our Trick-or-Treat event on October 29, 2025, and they would love your help!

They are accepting candy donations (drop off at MES) and monetary donations to make this event a success. Businesses that donate will be recognized during the event as well as on social media.

No donation is too big or too small — every little bit helps make this a fun event for our students! 🐾👻

Forever Dads recognized the Maysville Boys Basketball Team for their help at the annual golf outing with a donation to the program. 💙🏀

Maysville High School National Honor Society Induction

The National Honor Society (NHS), founded over a century ago, is a prestigious national organization grounded in four pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

Students who apply and are inducted into the local chapter must maintain a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, complete twenty service hours each year, demonstrate leadership both in and out of the classroom, and consistently exhibit good character.

"I am excited about watching growth in our students and having camaraderie among the staff. We have a great 7th grade team filled with lots of enthusiasm and awesome ideas!"

"If you're ever out and about at 4:30 in the morning watch for me running on the road. I love to get out in the peace and quiet for my time with God. "

Join us this Tuesday, October 21st at 6:30 PM for the 6–12 Fall Choir Concert! Enjoy an evening filled with beautiful music and incredible student performances. 🎶

The Maysville Adventure Club will have an informational meeting on October 23rd at 6:30pm in the 6-12 cafeteria. This is for students/parents grades 6-12 who are interested in skiing or snowboarding this winter.

Kindergarteners visited the Tinker Lab to explore the needs of living things. Students practiced the soft skill of using a tape dispenser and built lizard habitats that included food, water, and sunlight. They used dice to practice subitizing and rolled for parts of a lizard, then completed Lego habitat builds to bring their ideas to life.🦎

Hands-on learning helps build problem-solving skills, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

"I’m passionate about the life sciences, and as I begin my first year teaching biology at the sophomore level, I’m excited to bring my ideas to life by making learning meaningful, relevant, and fun. I’m also looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the classroom now that I have the opportunity to teach all grade levels."

"I love hiking, gardening (anything outdoors, really), and I love to read. My favorite genre is historical fiction!"

Have you ever tried your hand at cup stacking? Maysville 3rd graders put their perseverance and teamwork skills to the test by tackling a series of cup stacking challenges.

The twist? Teams could only use a “cup wrangler” made from string and a rubber band to complete their tasks! Some stacks toppled, some held strong, and everyone learned an important lesson about grit—just like Michael Jordan said: “I have failed over and over again in my life… and that is why I succeed.”

"I live in the Southtown community and both of my children are now alumni of Maysville. It is truly an honor to work with such a talented staff who care about our students. I’m proud to know I am making an impact in preparing students for college, career, and beyond. Being a Panther means building strong relationships and connecting with students. Those connections are meaningful and one of the most important parts of the learning process. "

"I’m most excited to share my love of reading and learning with new students and reconnect with former students. I look forward to “investigating”crimes in my true crime elective and bettering our community through service projects in Interact Club and National Honor Society. "
