This Fourth of July, as I begin my journey as Superintendent of Maysville Local Schools, I’m reminded of the deep connection between our nation’s founding ideals and the work we do every day to serve our students and community.
Independence Day is a time to reflect on the values that built our nation—freedom, unity, and a shared commitment to a brighter future. These same ideals are reflected in our district’s mission to “Empower Panthers to Create Our Future,” and our vision to “Build Community and Open Doors.”
President Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on.” That spirit of responsibility lives in our schools, where each day we work to equip students with the skills and character to lead and serve.
The principles that fueled America’s independence—working together for a cause greater than oneself, standing firm through hardship, and treating others with dignity—live on in our core values at Maysville. We believe in collaboration, resilience, kindness, purpose, and dependability—the same values that built a nation and now guide our students as they grow to make a meaningful impact in the world.

The Maysville Local School District has recently updated and reorganized the trophy cases. As part of this project, all previously displayed trophies will now also be featured on our school website for the entire Panther community to enjoy and celebrate.
Additionally, trophies that were not placed back into the updated cases will be available to alumni, families, or community members who may wish to keep a piece of Maysville history. These items will be available on July 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
We look forward to continuing to celebrate the proud traditions of Maysville with you!
