The Maysville Varsity Swim Team competed against seven teams on Friday, January 24, at the Logan Elm Mini Invitational. Overall, the Women’s Team finished second, and the Men’s Team finished third. In addition, Leila Hawk set a new school record in winning the 100 Backstroke.
The Women’s 400-yard Freestyle Relay Team of Olivia Rusnak, Bailey Paskell, Claire Heiney, and Leila Hawk finished 1st.
The Women’s 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of Claire Heiney, Olivia Rusnak, Grace Rush, and Leila Hawk finished 3rd.
The Men’s Relay Team of Landyn Kennedy, Elijah Mayle, Owen Rusnak, and Caleb Camp finished 1st in the 200-yard and the 400-yard Freestyle Relays.
Top 5 individual finishes included:
🏊♂️Senior Landyn Kennedy finished 5th in the 50 Free.
🏊♂️Senior Elijah Mayle finished 1st in the 100 Fly and 1st in the 200 Free.
🏊♀️Senior Bailey Paskell finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke and 4th in the 100 Free.
🏊♂️Senior Owen Rusnak finished 1st in the 100 Free.
🏊♂️Sophomore Caleb Camp finished 1st in the 100 Back and 3rd in the 200 IM.
🏊♀️Sophomore Leila Hawk finished 1st in the 100 Back and 1st in the 500 Free.
🏊♀️Sophomore Grace Rush finished 1st in the 200 Free and 4th in the 100 Back.
🏊♀️Freshman Olivia Rusnak finished 3rd in the 50 Free.
The Panthers will compete again on Wednesday, January 29, at the MVL Meet at Coshocton High School.

🎶🐾Maysville Music Departments Shines🐾🎶
The high school band and choir students had the opportunity to perform at OMEA Solo & Ensemble contest this past weekend at Meadowbrook. There were 41 instrumental events and 12 vocal events. This was the largest number of students Maysville has ever sent to this contest, and the students did a wonderful job even with the weather conditions and missed school leading up to the event.

-The Maysville Chamber Ensemble received a rating of a I: The members of that group were, Claire Heiner, Aubrey Cottrell, Baylee Mahon, Kendall Founds, Zoe Grant, Haylie Eldridge, Jazmyn Carpenter, Ryleigh McClain, Anna Ziel, Jaden Brady, Hannah Brown, Ryleigh Hittle, Will Smith, Jade Russell.
-The Maysville Gold Percussion Ensemble Received a I: Those Members were: Blake Morgan, Addie Shreiner, Jeffrey Clossman, Damien Webster, Jeffrey Clossman, Matthew Fracker.
-The Maysville Blue Percussion Ensemble received a II: Those members were: Jaron Kahle, Cooper Russell, Cody Brown, Damien Webster, Nikki Hittle, Jeffrey Clossman, Addie Shreiner
The Maysville Trombone Ensemble had a great performance as well: Gaige Durant, Braelynn Wheeler, Alex Combs, Joey Smith, Greyson Hearing, Kyle Ison, Ethan Beach, Ruger Fox.

Congratulations to the Maysville Boys Basketball team for defeating Riverview with a score of 83-33. The panthers were led by Gator Nichols with 41 points and 8 rebounds, Jordyn Watson with 17 points and 6 assists, Landon Iden with 9 points, Gavin Ferguson with 9 points, and Kade Rock with 12 rebounds.🏀🐾

The Maysville Varsity Swim Team celebrated Seniors Claire Heiney, Landyn Kennedy, Elijah Mayle, Bailey Paskell, and Owen Rusnak on Senior Night where they competed against eight teams at the 18th Annual County Meet at the Muskingum YMCA on Wednesday, January 22. 🐾🏊♀️🏊♂️
Overall, the Women’s Team finished 3rd in the County and the Men’s Team finished 2nd.
County Meet Champs included:
🏊♂️Owen Rusnak was the County Meet Champ in the 50-yard Freestyle.
🏊♀️Sophomore Leila Hawk was the County Meet Champ in the 200-yard and 500-yard Freestyle.
🏊♀️The Women’s 400-yard Freestyle Relay Team of Grace Rush, Olivia Rusnak, Bailey Paskell, and Leila Hawk finished 3rd.
