Maysville Elementary School is thrilled to announce its first-ever Family Literacy Night, taking place Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the YMCA.
This exciting, off-site event brings families together for an evening designed to celebrate reading, learning, and community connection in a fun and engaging setting. With interactive literacy activities, family-friendly experiences, and a welcoming atmosphere, this night promises to be a memorable opportunity for families to grow together as readers. We are collecting donations to support the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center. Items needed include:
🐶 Dog shampoo/conditioner
🐶 Medium/Large dog collars
🐶 Dog toys
🐶 Pill pockets
🐶 Soft dog treats
🐶 Dish soap
🐶 Gently used or new towels and blankets
Special Incentive: The classroom with the most donations will earn a fun trucker hat decorating party!

Doubleheader Success for Maysville Softball Team 🥎💙
The Panthers secured two victories against Trimble on Saturday. In the first game, Maysville won 8-5, highlighted by Lily Tumblin’s 3-RBI home run and Evee Matthews’ solo homer. Tumblin earned the pitching win with 11 strikeouts over seven innings. The team collected 10 hits and five stolen bases, with notable contributions from Matthews, Makalyn Cummings, and Lilah Jones.
In the second game, Maysville prevailed 13-12 in walk-off fashion. Trailing 12-11 in the bottom of the seventh, Lilah Jones tripled to drive in two runs and secure the victory. Matthews led the team with four hits, while Jones and Tumblin each drove in three runs. The Panthers totaled 13 hits and nine stolen bases, and Ava Willey earned the pitching win with eight strikeouts over seven innings.

Maysville 1st Grade Parent Engagement Day 🌿🐾
Our 1st grade students recently celebrated the end of their CKLA Habitats domain with a fun and interactive Parent Engagement Day!
Families were invited into the school to see firsthand what students have been learning about animal habitats and how plants and animals survive in their environments. A special thank you to guest speaker Melissa Spring for sharing her knowledge about turkeys and their habitats!
Students proudly showcased their learning by creating habitat dioramas and presenting them during our “Habitat Walk.”
It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with their child’s learning and celebrate all the hard work and growth throughout this unit. Great job, Panthers! 💙💛
