🪂 5th Grade Scientists in Action! 🧪
Maysville 5th graders visited the STEAM Lab to explore the science of parachutes and drag! 🚀
To kick things off, students watched a video about fire jumpers—brave firefighters who use parachutes to safely land in remote areas—highlighting how parachutes are used as an essential real-world tool. 🔥🪂
Working in teams, students then designed and tested parachutes using different materials and sizes — all while keeping the weight constant. Their mission? To investigate how surface area and material affect air resistance and fall time. 🌬️🪂

✈️ Mr. Leasure and Mrs. Warne took a group of juniors and seniors to the Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton on April 15th.
As part of their studies on the Vietnam War, students had the opportunity to explore exhibits, see historical aircraft up close, and deepen their understanding of this era in American history.
