Mrs Riggle’s 8th grade science students put the scientific method into action! Students tested how the position of a binder clip affected the distance their paper airplane could fly. They conducted three trials for each position, collected their data, and identified their independent and dependent variables along the way.

🥎 Maysville Softball Open Fields! 🥎
Maysville Middle School and High School softball players are invited to open fields beginning Wednesday, September 9, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. on the softball field.
Open fields will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays, as long as weather permits.

Maysville Middle School had our first Caught Ya Being Kind winners of the school year. These students were recognized for showing kindness and making a positive difference in our school.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we are excited to kick off the month with some great news!🐾⚽
Maysville Local Schools is proud to announce that we are partnering with the Columbus Crew through the Stay in the Game! Network. This partnership supports our efforts to promote the importance of regular school attendance and help our students and families succeed.
Regular attendance plays an important role in student success. Ohio recently updated its attendance laws with a greater focus on supporting families and identifying attendance concerns early.
Schools are now required to monitor the total amount of instructional time students miss, including full-day absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals. The focus is no longer only on unexcused absences and truancy, but on providing early support to students who may be at risk of becoming chronically absent.
Under Ohio law, a student is considered chronically absent when they miss 10% of the required instructional time during the school year, regardless of the reason for the absence.
Research consistently shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to be successful in reading, overall academic achievement, and graduating from high school.
We are excited to work alongside the Columbus Crew and our Maysville families to make attendance a priority. Every day matters, and every minute counts! ⚽🐾

Maysville High School and Middle School Cross Country competed in their first meet of the season at Claymont. The Panthers had several strong times to start the season.
🏅 High School Girls: Olivia Rusnak was Maysville’s top finisher, placing 8th with a time of 23:10.66.
🏅 High School Boys: Vincent Karczinski led the Panthers with a time of 20:52.72.
🏃 Middle School Boys: Matthew Wright finished with a time of 14:13.04.
🏃♀️ Middle School Girls: Kiari Honsvick finished with a time of 18:29.99.
The Panthers are back in action Saturday at Newcomerstown.

When arriving on campus be sure to have your driver's license on you. You are required to check in at the Welcome Center during closed campus hours (when cones and stop sign are out at the gate). You will check in with Safety personnel and be issued a visitor pass. Parents who are here daily during the closed campus times (eg. PreK drop off/pick up) can register with the Safety Office and be issued a yearly pass.
To clarify; when coming to campus if cones and stop sign are out at the gate all vehicles are required to stop and check in with Safety personnel. This is a quick process and is in place to enhance our safety for all. Thank you.
