Maysville High School students, including several NHS members, volunteered at an Eastside Ministries Food Giveaway at First Baptist Church in South Zanesville on Friday, February 27th. They are practicing one of the district’s values by demonstrating kindness and “choosing to do something to help others.”

🐾2026 OHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championships🐾
On Saturday, two Maysville swimmers competed at the OHSAA State Swimming Championship in Canton, Ohio.
🏊♀️Junior Leila Hawk became the first Maysville swimmer in school history to qualify for OHSAA State Swim Finals by setting a school record in the 500-yard Freestyle at the Prelims on Thursday. During the Finals on Friday, Hawk recorded her 3rd fastest time of the season, finishing 16th in the state of Ohio. Hawk also finished 29th in the 200-yard Freestyle while at the state meet.
🏊♀️Freshman Paige Calendine excelled during her first appearance at the OHSAA Swimming championships. In Calendine's first race, the 50-yard Freestyle Para, she crushed her personal record by nearly 2 seconds while earning a third-place finish. In her second race, the 100 yard Backstroke Para, Paige rallied in the last lap to pass two other swimmers and earn a 5th place finish.
Maysville Swimming Season Highlights:
-7 athletes qualified for the District Meet.
-The Women's team placed 13th at the District meet - the highest in school history.
-The Women’s team scored 39 points at the District meet - the highest point total in school history.
-The Women’s team set numerous school records, including the 200-yard Medley Relay and the 400-yard Freestyle Relay.
-This is the 2nd straight year that Maysville has been represented at the state swim meet.

Maysville 3rd graders visited the STEAM Lab to put their new CKLA reading knowledge about sound vibrations to the test! Students designed and built their own guitars, experimenting with rubber bands of different lengths and widths to observe how vibrations affect sound. Along the way, they learned how to safely use glue guns and creatively repurposed recycled materials in their constructions. A big thank you to the Stamping Up ladies for generously donating card boxes that helped make these projects possible.
