Maysville Community,
I am sure that you have all reflected on the events of Tuesday and the horrific accident with the Tusky Valley band and others involved. It is moments like this that you keep things in perspective and help you define yourself as a human. Many schools and programs around the state and country are rallying and providing support for the Tusky Valley community. OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) District 9 (our district), is collecting from any music program that wants to donate. Then sending in one large sum.
Tomorrow, the band is having an all you can eat breakfast for a $5.00 donation. The band receives 50% of the proceeds. We are going to donate the profits we make from tomorrow's breakfast to the Tusky Valley program. I would like to double down on my invite.

The Maysville Adventure Club has completed 5 trips to the Crooksville Rec. Center where students have participated in rock climbing🧗. All participants improved throughout the visits and some have shown a real talent for the sport. A special thanks goes out to the Crooksville Rec. Center and to volunteers Chris and Teresa Rice. These activities were offered at no cost to the 13 students that participated through a grant from the Muskingum County Community Foundation, made possible by generous donors since 1985.

Yesterday, Maysville had their first Business Advisory Council meeting and it was a huge success, bringing together our incredible community partners with students and teachers from all four career pathways. The day was filled with engaging conversations, interactions with student projects, and a deep dive into the exciting things happening within our pathways. Thank you to our business partners, teachers and students for making this possible.Together, we are shaping the future for our students here at Maysville Local School District.

Maysville O*TAGS had a special visitor that talks turkey 🦃. Melissa Spring was one of the original Maysville O*TAGS preschool teachers. She is now an active member of the National Wild Turkey Foundation (NWTF). She brought tons of turkey related items for the students admire and some to hold. We look forward to Mrs. Spring’s visits.

Mr. Murphy's Rock and Roll History Class had a zoom call with Adam Conde. Adam is the manager of rock and roll legend, George Thorogood and The Destroyers. From "Bad to the Bone" to the heart of rock history, Adam shared some incredible insights into the world of George Thorogood.

The Maysville Theater Department Presents "Borrowed Time" Thursday, November 16th and Friday, November 17th. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 6:30. Admission is $5.00.
🐾Yesterday, the Panther Quiz Team, despite being outnumbered in all three matches, buzzed their way to the finals and took runner-up position in the Southeast Ohio Quiz League tournament, as well as being regular season runner ups.
🐾Congratulations to Will Smith, for being the overall league leading scorer for the second year in a row with over 100 points per match.
