In Mrs. Stoehr's 7th-grade students have been exploring why we still read myths and legends. After reading an excerpt from The Hunger Games, the class discussed the similarities between Katniss and Theseus. Now, they are diving into The Cruel Tribute, the story of how Theseus defeats the Minotaur and becomes King of Athens. Using a Socratic Seminar, students engaged in thoughtful discussions to check their own understanding and dig deeper into the text. 📚 Proud to be a panther. #PantherPride

🏀Maysville Youth League Basketball Information🏀

Maysville High School Spanish 2 students worked together on 15 challenging puzzles over two days, using the verb wall to unlock the mystery of Spanish verb conjugation. Through problem-solving and teamwork, they realized they could conquer something that once seemed impossible!🐾 Proud to be a panther. #PantherPride

🎶 5th Grade Band Recruitment 🎶 5th Grade recruitment for the band will take place on Thursday, September 26th and Thursday, October 3rd from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the band room. The doors at the end of the hallway by the basketball courts will be unlocked for entrance. 🌴 Teamwork in the Tinker Lab!🐾 Maysville Elementary 1st graders met in the Tinker Lab to investigate teamwork. Students worked collaboratively to build a coconut tree model after reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by John Archambault and Bill Martin. Students discovered the uppercase and lowercase letters often work together and the magic of construction with glue dots. Additionally, pairs worked together to construct building challenges using snowflake discs and pixel art grids. Proud to be a panther. #PantherPride

Maysville 4th graders worked together to complete the mission of "Saving Fred," the gummy worm who capsized his boat! 🛶 There were important rules to follow, like not letting Fred fall into the water, and only using paper clips as their team tools. 🧠✨ Thanks to their problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking, Fred was saved again and again! To finish off the challenge, the students built worm tunnels using the ThinkFun Gravity Maze game, showing off their cooperative problem-solving skills! 🌟 Proud to be a panther. #PantherPride
